For Three Years, Consumers Trust Crisco? Pie Hotline (1-877-FOR PIE TIPS) To Help Perfect Their Pies

As home cooks begin pre-heating their ovens and preparing for the busy holiday baking season, some may find themselves in a sticky situation. For the third year, the Crisco® Pie Hotline – 1-877-FOR PIE TIPS (toll free) is available to offer expert advice for pie bakers who are in “knead” of a little help.

Last year, the Crisco Pie Hotline received thousands of calls from consumers around the country.  Available 24-hours a day, the hotline offers baking tips, new time-saving hints and the opportunity to talk to a live Crisco Pie Pro. Callers’ most commonly asked questions were:
•    ”How do I prevent the bottom of my pumpkin pie crust from becoming soggy?”
•    “How long can I freeze my unbaked fruit pie?”
•    “Can you give me step-by-step instructions for making a pie crust?”

The Crisco Pie Hotline features winning tips from the American Pie Council Crisco National Pie Championship 2008 Amateur Winners. With the recorded tips from these experts, as well as live help from the Crisco Pie Pros, even beginner chefs are able to impress their friends and relatives with their delectable, homemade pies and tarts.

The Crisco Pie Hotline offers tips including:
•    How to make the classic Crisco pie crust recipe;
•    Pie baking tips that will save time in the kitchen;
•    Award winning key lime pie and meringue preparation instructions;
•    Information on storing pies;
•    Creative recipe ideas;
•    Answers to frequently asked questions about Crisco shortening and sprays.

Pie lovers can listen to the pie hotline by calling 1-877-FOR PIE TIPS (1-877-367-7438) 24-hours a day. A live pie expert can be reached Monday through Friday from 9am to 7pm ET, with extended hours from 8am – 8pm ET November 17 through November 26 and December 15 through December 23. Live experts are not available on Thanksgiving Day or the day after, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
