My Levis
Totally off topic, but I’m so excited I just have to share!
I don’t know about you, but buying jeans is like buying a bathing suit – absolute torture! I am 5′3″ with curves (and proud of it). This means A. I have to shop for petite pants and B. my hips are bigger than my waist.
Most petite sections in my neck of the woods have very little selection for me. It seems that they are geared towards the middle-aged working woman, not the 30-something stay-at-home-mom.
Well, I recently made a trip to JP Penney for some shopping therapy and discovered a big section of Levis jeans. They have mid rise, low rise, at waist, straight leg, boot cut, flared, relaxed, and skinny available in average, short and long lengths. (There are even more styles, cuts and sizes available online at LevisStore.com).
The options were a little overwhelming, but after trying on several different pair, I found jeans that I am comfortable in and they look pretty darn good! I purchased 2 pair: low rise straight leg short length in a typical blue-jean color and low rise, boot-cut short length in a dark, dark blue. Both of these styles are not too frumpy (think stereotypical mom jeans that come up to your arm pits) and not too trendy (think Hanna Montana or any other teenie-bopper star).
The low rise sits just right that I don’t get that big gap in the back because my waist is not proportioned to my built-for-breeding hips. The colors are modern and will go with any top. And the length is perfect for either my sneakers or boots.
Hurray, I feel like a thirty-something-mom with some style! And hubby said they make my booty look great! I think Stacy and Clinton would approve.
Oh, did I mention that many styles are on sale at LevisStore.com?

Ooooh! I’m so envious. I’m only an inch taller than you and have the same problem with the horrible gap in the back with most jeans add to that that I need a size four and you’ve got pure shopping misery.
I did manage to pick up a pair at WalMart last time I was in the market for jeans that fit very nicely and the time before that I found a pair on sale at Zellers for only $10 (Of course they only had one pair in that style or I would’ve bought more!) I literally cried when those ones bit the biscuit. What is it about jeans that that makes the knees blow out??
Any tips on the hunt….I found the first three so easily and now have been through your website thrice, but to no avail! I am thinking “peanuts, piano, Schroder” but nothing seems to activate when I click on it and certainly nothing pertaining to the three things I have in mind…what’s a girl to do? I’d love a tip or TWO! Cheers-
Hi there! Found you through the blog hunt, but had to read a few posts first. I’m 5′2″ and can SO relate. I’m going to have to head over to JC Penney and try some on.

Found you through blog hunt as well but can totally relate to your pain. I am 5′2″ and not made like a twig. So finding comfortable clothes, especially jeans, can be somewhat of a challenge. I found the best fitting, most comfortable jeans at Coldwater Creek this past season. And they also have wonderful casual pants perfect for us SAHM,s.
Ha ha ha… I loved that you put “Stacy & Clinton” into this post. I think about them EVERY time I am in the fitting room. You made me smile : )
Boy, do I feel your pain! I am 5′3″ too and I have to say I love the 501’s!!!! They come in a short and it’s like I feel like I’m in my 20’s again! Enjoy your Levi’s!
I just found your blog/site and I am loving it…
