CVS Coupons Fraud/Copyright Infringement
This evening I received an email from a security enforcement group representing CVS. Evidently, my posts with links to CVS Coupons are considered “unauthorized excerpts of CVS’s intellectual property”. Honestly, at first I thought that it was junk mail, but the company that sent the email is legit.
Now, I loves me some coupons, and I love to save a buck. But I’m not going to break any laws to do so. So upon the request of CVS I am deleting all links to their coupons.
I know there are a lot of other blogs and coupon forums that share these links – I would suggest you all take down the links. Believe me, you do not want to receive an email stating that you should “…cease and desist from further unauthorized reproduction, distribution, publication, archiving, or other exploitation of CVS properties.” or “Under penalty of perjury, the undersigned is authorized to act on behalf of CVS with respect to this matter.”
I have seen some obvious fraudulent coupons posted on some blogs and forums, and have not used them or posted them. Anything that is a .jpg or .pdf file is NOT a legit coupon from CVS. It’s basically a copy of a coupon that someone legitimately received in their email. As far as the other links, I just don’t know. More than likely, they were not intended to be public links and I will no longer use them.
This is really disappointing because in the long run, we are all going to lose. Using the CVS system saves us plenty. We should respect CVS and stop using printable coupons. Really, only the coupons that you receive in your email from CVS should be used.
