Have a ‘chore box’. Every time a child mentions anything about being “bored” or having “nothing to do” tell them to take their pick out of the chore box. After they complete the chore, you can bet they will find something to keep them occupied!

If you have young children, adopt a rotation system with their toys and swap them over once a week. Not only will tidy-up time be much easier with less to pack up, but your children will have new-found enthusiasm for toys they haven’t seen in a while!

What to do when the toys are everywhere? Start teaching them young that you have to put things away before you pull another toy or activity out. When I was growing up, if my mother found any of our toys/items lying around the house, she would confiscate them for a week. Try this one on your family, and you’ll have less of a problem with mess. PS: This works with hubby too!

Hate housework? Doing a little bit each day saves having to be a slave to your house at the end of the week. Tidy up small messes as they occur…every little bit makes a difference.

There are always jobs around your house that literally only take a minute to do-dusting the TV screen; emptying a wastebasket; cleaning a mirror or 2; changing the bathroom towels. These jobs might seem insignificant, but not when you have to do them all at once!

Don’t procrastinate! The more you procrastinate, the more you worry about the horrid errand your trying to avoid, the larger or more dire the job becomes…it’s a vicious circle. Better it is then, to get in and get the worst job done first. The rest will then seem like a breeze.

I miss CVS. It became impossible to travel to CVS with little dude - he’s just to much of a fidget to behave. But now that he’s going to start pre-school (sobs!), I’ll have 2 mornings each week to myself. I can make it a habit again to go to CVS regularly.

I will start this coming week because there are too many buy-one-get-one-free deals to pass up. It’s also the semi-annual beauty sale. The key is to ONLY BUY WHAT I NEED! But looking at the circular, there is plenty I need, and a few things that will start me building up my Extra Care Bucks (ECBs) again.

If you’ve never done the “CVS Thing” before, I suggest heading over to MoneySavingMom.com - Crystal does a fantastic job explaining it, and how to make it work.

Me, well my plan is to make a list of the items from the circular that I need and then check my coupons to see if there are any I can use. That’s it this week since I need to start growing my ECBs.

Are you interested in starting over with CVS too? Or are you a complete CVS Newbie? Join me this week getting started. Leave me a comment with your plan!
