Fight The Frump

I think it’s funny that Mrs. FussyPants posted today about eye make-up because my Fight The Frump is about my obsession: eye brows. Ok, honestly it’s just one of my obsessions. Just like Fussy (the Southern Belle), I (the Jersey Girl) love make-up and big hair. I don’t feel ‘ready for the day’ without the appropriate amount of Great Lash mascara and Aqua Net hair spray applied. Heck, I’m so obsessed with make-up that I named my basset hound Maybelline. (Ok, not really. She’s named after a Chuck Berry song. But it fits!)

Anyway, my eyebrows – now that’s number one on my list. I pluck every day to achieve the perfectly arched shape. I fill in with a little bit of pencil every day. Remember the red pencil that grandma used to draw her eyebrows on? That’s what I use – just a bit to fill in the blanks and define the shape.

Having well groomed eyebrows is important. It opens and defines your eyes – the first feature most people notice on your face (unless you have a mole or something…). Do you pluck too? Or do you wax? I’m not a big fan of waxing – I’ve had it done a few times and was never happy with the result. Maybe it’s just a control-freak thing, but I’d rather pluck them myself.
