This past Saturday, Little Dude went to the Home Depot Kids Clinic. He made a ‘secret’ Mother’s Day present for me! I already know what it is since he can’t keep a secret, but I still can’t wait to open it!
Hubby asked what I wanted for Mother’s Day. I told him I wanted a Nintendo Wii and the Fit Bundle. Well because of our budget, I’m sure that’s not what I’m getting. That’s OK – we will do the usual: trip to the Home Depot Garden Center where I get to pick whatever I want; then we come home and he acts as my hired labor for the day helping me with the garden.
Each year I’ve picked a nice perennial bush: azelia, scottish broom, butterfly bush. This year I might go for another butterfly bush – Little Dude loves seeing the butterflys and pretty colored birds they attract.

Our lawn mower konked out just in time for grass growing season. My hubby has been cutting the lawn with the weed eater. Pitiful. We have a 10% Home Depot coupon so between that and the gift card we would get a new push mower. Fingers and toes are crossed =)
We are moving in about 3 weeks so I would use it on paint so the new place can be nice and fresh.

Wow… it’s be a tough choice, but I’m most likely go with mortar for the tile we are replacing the carpets with. The carpet is nasty and bugging all our allergies, and we had a water leak, so it’s now WET and nasty! Ugh. Have fun picking out your new flowers! Might I suggest some peony’s? You mentioned 2 plants that are huge invasive’s here in WA, and I had a momentary cringe.

I agree, the Nintendo would be a nice gift but going to the Home Depot would be good as well. We had also “done” some type of improvement to our place each year for our anniversary. One year we built some steps, planted a live oak, added some flowers to the property, etc. etc.
If I won the GC I would probably use it to help build my green house that hubby is doing for me. I’m sure that would help with items that we do not currently have around the house.

I have eight cats that I have put on tough love. My outdoor furniture is so bad looking because they all lay on one chair then they move on to the next piece. So all of them look really bad. I would wait on a great sale probably after July 4th and buy new furniture.

OH, how I love home depot! It seems we are constantly in the process of remodeling our home, since we went thru a hurricane…. once we tear out the floors to replace them, we will find we have to replace the walls or something really inconvenient! If I won, this would totally go towards a kitchen sink, since ours actually fell thru the cabinets last week! Thanks for the chance!
