RedPlum coupon inserts pulled from the Sunday paper
Valassis Communications is pulling its Red Plum coupons out of local newspapers in favor of sending them via the U.S. Postal Service or making them available online at RedPlum.com.
The problem is all affected coupon users are not receiving them in the targeted mail distribution. Another concern for people who use coupons is that mail distribution is limited to only one coupon insert per household.
Not to mention the fact that this could close down more newspapers. I personally only get the paper so I can get my hands on the coupons.
Consumers can take a stand by visiting www.BringBackTheCoupons.com
Voice your opinion. Consumers can post comments on the Valassis decision at the website.
Contact Companies that advertise with Valassis. On the website, you will find the list of regular Red Plum advertisers along with their contact information. Take a moment to tell Red Plum advertisers how this matter will affect you. Advertisers and companies need to be reminded that their ads are not being seen, their products will be purchased less, and Valassis’s recent decision will negatively impact your family budget.
Counterfeit Couponizer Website Found
Amy Bergen sent an email out today to the customers of The Couponizer warning about emails that contain malware.
Gary Warner, Director of Computer Forensics at the University of Alabama and his students discovered a malware campaign that involves a counterfeit Couponizer website and spam e-mail directing people to print local coupons off this website.
Please note the links found on TheHouseholdHelper and in emails sent out to my list are valid and fully secure.
Geez – what a mess us couponers have going on!
