This Week’s Focus Feb 4 – 10
This week’s focus will tackle all three things we all struggle to save: time, money and sanity.
What is this magic task? Meal Planning.
Meal Planning Saves Time
Having all the ingredients ready to go, and knowing what you’re going to cook for dinner saves you precious minutes during what I call “the witching hour” – dinner time.
Meal Planning Saves Money
Even if you never clip a single coupon, just planning your meals for the week eliminates the last minute trips to the store or fast food joint.
Meal Planning Saves Sanity
Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have the answer to that age old question “What’s for dinner?”. And doesn’t the thought of already knowing what’s for dinner alleviate the stress of a busy day?
This week’s mission is to start planning your meals. Plan 7 nights worth of dinners. Choose your easiest recipes or the family favorites. After that, move on to breakfast, lunch and snacks.
Trust me, when you begin planning your family meals, “the witching hour” becomes less much less frantic.
Time for A little Link Love:
FlyLady is focusing on the Kitchen this week. A good time to empty the fridge and cupboards and start fresh.
My two favorite spots on the web for short-cut cooking are Campbell’s Kitchen.com and BettyCrocker.com. You know you want to know what to do with the extra cans of soup and that box of Bisquick!
Now before I go, or you go, please let me know what you think of my series “This Week’s Focus”. Is it helping you manage your home? Please post a comment – I’d love some feedback!

I agree that meal planning is great. That is why I post my meals, with grocery list, on my blog. I know that meal planning can be a chore for some so it is my way of helping others out. Take a look at it at http://www.CarriesCooking.com.
I just found your blog, but I think a weekly goal is a great way to start the week.
I think the idea of meal planning is a very good one and will save both time and money. Thanks!
