Supreme Baked Apple Butter



What You Need:

 

32 oz. jar of applesauce

1 1/2 C dark brown sugar

1/2 C vinegar

1/4 tsp. ground cloves

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

 

How to Make It:

 

Heat the oven to 350 degrees.

Place the applesauce into a 2 qt. casserole dish.

Stir in the brown sugar.

Pour in the vinegar and mix well with a rubber spatula being sure the vinegar is completely combined.

Add the cloves and cinnamon and continue stirring until all the ingredients are incorporated together.

Bake 2 hours stirring occasionally.

Mixture is done when thick and transparent.

Allow mixture to cool slightly.

Pour into jars and allow coming to room temperature before storing in the refrigerator.

 

Makes 4 jars

 

There’s nothing better than homemade apple butter.  This recipe is simple and tastes good enough to give away.
